Department of Emergency Medicine
This is a 30bed modern facility with a rapid response team interlinked with the Emergency Responder System as a part of the Govt of Tamilnadu Accident and Emergency Initiative.
Department of General Surgery
A department proud of its tradition of being headed by some great names, has 240 beds with 11 beds intensive surgical care unit and 40 post operative care beds. The department is equipped with laproscopic, endoscopic, radiofrequency vascular ablation units and five well equipped operation theatres.
Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology
The Trauma services of this hospital is the convergence point for patients from the major highway systems of three districts and the 150 beds and 10bed ITCU are always full. The department specializes in joint replacement, arthroscopy, spinal surgery and other major orthopedic surgeries.
Department of General / Internal Medicine
A department which has dominated the campus through its huge clinical workload (280 beds) has a ward cluster which is full most of the days in an average year with a 26 bed Intensive Medical Care and Toxicology Facility attached. The Department runs an Internal Medicine outpatient service with 300-400patient appointments. The department also provides special clinical services for Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hemophillia, HIV , Geriatric and Rheumatology patients.
Department of Pediatric Medicine and Neonatology
Has 120 beds with a 25 bed PICU, 25 bed NICU and 27 bed SNCU. The department has a busy OP service with special clinics for pediatric cardiology, neurology, nephrology and hematology. The ICU is well prepared with BiPAP, CPAP and ventilator units for treating COVID patients. The department has a District Early Intervention Centre for receiving, diagnosing and managing children from the rural areas with specific ailments.
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology
The Department lead by a team of resolute women is a level-3 obstetric referral centre with 405 beds and a Platinum Certification under the (Labour Room Quality Improvement Initiative) LAQSHYA program. The department mentors the rural health maternity care system

1. Clinical Departments
Department of Oto-rhino-laryngology
A department with 40 beds has an active surgical work with facilities which include pure tone and impedence audiometry, brain stem evoked response audiometry etc with facilities for treating most ENT disorders including tympanoplasty and cochlear implants.
Department of Ophthalmology
This unit has a clinical psychiatry facility for severe phenotypes, adolescent psychiatry and child psychiatry services under the District Early Intervention Centre, Deaddiction centre for alcoholics and a Community Psychiatry Emergency Care and Recovery Centre.
Department of Dermato-Venero-Leprology
The 60 bed indoor facility and an OPD system supported by a robust team of specialists who engage in leprosy diagnosis and deformity management, anti retroviral therapy, sexually transmitted disease diagnosis, dermatosurgery and laser cosmetology.
Department of Psychiatry
A department which has registered itself as the mentor for the district's blindness control program, has a 50bed facility for cataract surgery, corneal, orbital, vitreo-retinal surgeries.
Department of Respiratory Medicine
This department is now leading the district effort in National Tuberculosis Eradication with its 50bed MDR and XDR treatment units and a non-tuberculous pulmonology facility with bronchoscopy and pulmonary function tests.
Department of Anaesthesiology
A large facility with 27 operating rooms fitted with best in class equipments and machinery including a 19 kilolitre liquid oxygen supply has been our strength during the COVID pandemic.
2. Intensive Care Units
The hospital has a 20 bed ICCU, 26 bed IMCU, 11 bed ISCU, 5 bed Head Injury ICU, 25 bed PICU, 4 bed PACU, 25 bed NICU, 15 bed ITCU and 5 bed Obstetrics ICU with a team of dedicated residents and nurses in waiting. During the COVID pandemic waves this ICU system of the hospital was the mainstay of our operations.
3. Radiology and Imaging Services
The department of Radiodiagnosis is equipped with a 1.5 Tesla MRI scan, two 16 slice Helical CT scans, 26 ultrasonogram machines, Doppler Unit, DSA, 800mA digital imaging system, 800mA Fluroscopy unit with Image Intensifier and many more. The imaging unit is a busy place
4. Central Laboratory Services
The laboratory is a well equipped unit with an operational capacity of 3500tests per day with 128 parameters serviced by 14 different automatic analysers for basic biochemistry, electrolyte analysis, blood gas analysis, endocrinology and coagulation studies. The lab has independent lab units for serology, bacteriology, mycology, virology and PCR testing, histopathology, immunohistochemistry, cytology, hematology and genetic pathology. The labs are computerized with a LMIS system
